Questions

Pricing and limits, explained

Yes. The Free plan is free forever: up to 2 computers in a group, Internet fallback up to 1 hour per month, Remote preview up to 15 minutes per month, and everything else included. Pro ($7 per month) adds unlimited Internet fallback, unlimited Remote preview, and up to 25 computers. As a launch offer, Pro is included free for a limited time with every download.

Up to 2 on the Free plan and up to 25 on Pro. Each computer belongs to at most one group, and screens are arranged on a 5 × 5 layout grid to match your desk. Multi-monitor computers move as one unit.

No. Computers on the same local network find each other automatically over mDNS and talk directly, with no account and no server in between. Internet fallback is a separate, off-by-default group setting that uses the relay only when the local network cannot reach a computer. The local network always comes first.

Not in the usual sense. Input Portal moves your keyboard, mouse, and clipboard to another computer when the pointer crosses a screen edge, like the computers were one desk. Remote preview adds the other computer’s screen full-screen on the computer where you enable it, so you can work on a computer that is out of sight. There is no connection dialog to go through: it appears when the pointer crosses the edge and closes when it comes back.

No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to enroll. Install the app, approve the pairing, and move the pointer through the edge. Internet fallback also works without an account or server enrollment.

Only encrypted bytes. Sessions are end-to-end encrypted between the apps with the Noise protocol, so the relay forwards ciphertext and never sees input, clipboard content, or video. It is used only when the local network cannot reach a computer, and only computers that were first approved on the local network can find each other through it.

Yes. “Remove from group” permanently bans that computer’s device key, on the local network and through the relay. A computer that leaves or is removed gets a new key and has to be approved again before it can join anything.

Start with two computers.

Install it on both and approve the pairing.
